【摘要】:Whenphysicallyevaluatingasoil,relativetoitssuitabilitytosupportplantgrowth(primarilygrasses),testsmustbeperformedtodeterminethepresenceandamountofsolidmatter(organicandinorganic)compatibilitythatcandeterminepotentialair-voidcontentandwater-holdingability,andfinally,deleteriousmaterials.TypicalgeneralrangesofsoilcontentforsuitabletopsoilsarepresentedinSpecificationD5268.Itshouldberecognized,however,thatinsomegeographicregions,concurrencewiththevaluesinthereferencedtablewouldbedifficult.Insuchsituations,locallyacceptablespecificationsneedtobedeveloped.1.1Thisguidecoversthematerialcharacteristics,physicalrequirements,andsamplingappropriateforthedesignationofthematerialasamineralamendment.1.2ThepresenceinthetopsoilofthecorrectnutrientandpHlevelisnecessaryforhealthyplantgrowth.Thisguidedoesnot,however,coveradeterminationofthenutrients,northeiravailability.Note18212;Thenutrientcontentoftopsoilisimportantandthechemicalsusuallyevaluatedarenitrogen,phosphate,andpotassium.Nutrientdeficienciesmaybecorrectedbyusingfertilizers.Excesssolublesaltsshouldbeexaminedastotheirdesirability.Theacidityoralkalinityofthesoilisalsoimportant.Excessaciditymaybecorrectedbytheapplicationoflimedust.Excessalkalinitymaybecorrectedbytheapplicationofsulfurorothersuitableacidifyingcompounds.Thelatteritem,inadditiontoloweringpH,alsocouldbeconsideredasanaggregatewhenconsideringtheparticlesizedistribution.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.5Thisguideoffersanorganizedcollectionofinformationoraseriesofoptionsanddoesnotrecommendaspecificcourseofaction.Thisdocumentcannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgment.Notallaspectsofthisguidemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.ThisASTMstandardisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisdocumentbeappliedwithoutconsiderationofaproject''smanyuniqueaspects.Thewordx201C;Standardx201D;inthetitleofthisdocumentmeansonlythatthedocumenthasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.
